Birmingham Design Festival lands in the city on 7th June 2018 running for four days across three design districts; graphic, digital and product. The festival kicks off with a poster exhibition titled FORWARD THINKING featuring artwork by 34 local designers, artists and illustrators.
Inspired by the festival theme artwork explores how design will move forward in the future. The highly anticipated poster exhibition opens with a private view on Wednesday 6th June between 7pm - 9pm at Medicine Bakery + Gallery on New Street.
Medicine’s first floor Victorian space, previously home to the Royal Society of Birmingham Artists, is the perfect venue for this unique and thought provoking exhibition.
I created two pieces titled DREAM IT. MAKE IT. designed to complement and sit next to each other. Although they will be displayed as a single A1 landscape piece, individual A2 prints will be available for purchase.
Work in progress images show the initial pencil sketches while the final piece was created in Illustrator using the festival's brand colours, blue, green and red.
Join me and many more talented Brummies to celebrate the official opening of Birmingham Design Festival on the evening of Wednesday 6th June from 7pm - 9pm. The private view will be complemented by savoury and sweet treats from artisan bakers Medicine and the festival’s very own beer, brewed in collaboration with Brum Brewing Co.
