Inkygoodness opened with a bang on Thursday evening, kicking off early due to a steady crowd building up outside! A staggering number of people turned up to celebrate our debut London show (we lost count at 1200 vistors!), to take in the beautiful collection of artwork, prints, skateboards and drawings and interactive installations, inspired by the theme of ‘Play’.
We were thrilled that so many of our talented artists joined us in celebration on the opening night, including Dave Bain (below), Good Wives & Warriors, Colourbox, Mc Bess, Seb Burnett, Sarah Dennis, Mister Millerchip, Colourbox and Sam de Buysscher (Toy Factory) who flew over from Belgium for his first trip to London!
We were also joined by Dave Hughes from AMMO Magazine who launched the special ‘Play’ edition of AMMO at the show. A bargain at only £5 each, these limited edition copies flew off the shelves!
In the spirit of the ‘Play’ theme we also invited artists Cami Dobrin & Mister Millerchip to create characters out of our space hoppers! Not to be out-done, our brilliant volunteer and fellow illustrator Kraggy also added his twist to the pink one!
It was a night filled with fun and playing – as these photos show. Artists Dave Bain and Cami Dobrin took to the streets later in the evening to create a large chalk drawing near the entrance to the gallery – delighting visitors and passers-by. We’d like to express our thanks to Kopparberg for providing the drinks, Andreja & the team at the East Gallery and all our lovely artists and volunteers who gave up their time to help make the show such a success!
Inkygoodness ‘Play’ runs until Sunday 12th September. Open daily Sat & Sun 11am – 6pm, Tue – Fri 1pm – 7pm at the East Gallery, 214 Brick Lane, London.
