Once There Was A Book
C.S. Lewis inspired children's book illustrations to be auctioned for Acorns Children's Charity
15 artists create new artworks inspired by their favourite children's books for a one night only exhibition. Curated by Badego the 'Once There Was A Book' exhibition is set to launch on Friday 8th December 2017 at the Zellig, Custard Factory, Birmingham.
Taking inspiration from The Magician's Nephew by C.S Lewis I designed two pieces showing the sequence of events as Polly and Digory happen upon a mysterious golden bell while exploring the Palace of Charn.
Two partner pieces enables the successful bidder to share the story with a partner in crime, soul mate, best friend, or travel buddy, serving as a reminder that journeys don't have to be taken alone. Find out more about the inspiration and work in progress images on the 'Once There Was A Book' blog.
A3 signed, hand embellished giclée prints
Both works have been individually hand drawn, digitally coloured and giclée printed onto heavyweight 310g.s.m Hahnemühle German Etching paper. Each piece has been signed and hand embellished with stars, spots and a gold bell using metallic posca paint and gold acrylic.
